#ZomatoMeetUp at Gastronomica, GK

I had this amazing opportunity to be a part of a #ZomatoMeetUp at Gastronomica, GK, Delhi.

The people at Zomato were feeling lucky with the number 7,
So, they arranged a Seven Course Meal for the bloggers at Gastronomica.

The Droolworthy Menu

COURSE 1 : Soup
  • Wild Mushroom Cappuccino

I've never liked mushroom in my entire life,
but there was something about this that made me like it very much.
The taste of mushroom topped with milk, cream and herbs; along with long pieces of mushroom made a nice combination!

DRINK 1 : Martini
  • Orange and Rosemary Martini

This was the first drink of the evening; light, orangy and a pleasant one.

COURSE 2 : Salad
  • Pear Salad with Poached Red Wine

The twist was that it were caramelized, which made it a lot more sweater and tastier.
The right amount of everything had in one bite would neutralize the bitterness of leaves with the caramelized taste.

COURSE 3 : Appetizer
  • Quinoa Bhel

This one was presented in a very different manner, right on the table in a pan!

It was a spicy combination of rice, vegetables, bhel and quinoa. High on roughage, and a little less than 100 calories!
Despite having so many ingredients, this dish was on a lighter side but really spicy.

DRINK 2 : Mojito
  • Pan & Gulukand Mojito

Till the time Quinoa Bhel was dealt it, came the 2nd cocktail to ease up the burning spice! (Probably the order was set in this manner)

I've been very fond of Gulukand chocolates, but never thought that I'd ever have a Gulukand cocktail.
Vodka with pan and gulukand, along with the minty effect made it my favorite drink of the evening.
Oh, Not to forget the Fresh Pan leaves made it even more better!

COURSE 4 : Starters
  • Tandoori Quail

Snapchat : @Rishnita ;)

For those of you who don't know what a quail is,
It is a mid sized bird, about a 140 grams in weight; beautiful when alive!

A full quail was grilled over charcoal; marinated in yogurt and chef's special spices,
and served along with sides to each one of us.
Soft, and deeply charcoaled.
  • Kadak Papad Kebabs
Beautifully Presented!

Course 4 for the vegetarians!
Everything on the plate was edible.
yep! That rose is edible too! ;)

COURSE 5 : Pizza from the Wood fired Oven
  • Gamberoni

Delicious, hot thin crust pizza served on the wood was something that I definitely crazed for more!
The crust was thin and perfectly crispy, topped with prawns, zucchini, parsley, garlic and chilli.
Prawns as a topping on pizza was my first time, and I love the combination already!

COURSE 6 : MAIN COURSE
  • Espresso Pan Fried Chicken Breasts

Having this was the lowest moment of the evening for me. I didn't like the chicken breasts at all, tasteless and a little too hard for a person to dig in. Thank god for the mash.

DRINK 3 : WHISKEY
  • Whiskey Sour with Nimbu Ka Achaar

Another one of their innovative drinks!
This one is a little strong blend of whiskey added with a hit of Nimbu ka Achaar on the brim.

Lick the achaar, and take a sip; and you have the whiskey sour the Gastronomica way!

Course 7 : Desserts
  • Freshly Baked Molten Cake

Every time you order a molten cake, it goes straight into making.
Fresh and soft cake, with hot molten lava flowing has always fascinated me, and this one has entered my favorite list.
  • Churros with Blueberry Rabdi -
We were to dip the churros in chocolate sauce, and then the blueberry rabdi; as told by Sumit (The Owner of this fine place).
I wasn't very sure of the combo when I heard it; but It actually had me there at a moment.
The softness of blueberry rabdi went so well with the churros that one had to like them!

I never thought I'd ever say this, But I was tired of eating.
I was really pleased to have finished all the seven courses, which were delicious yet stuffing.

Gastronomica is put together by a Wine lover, which you'd notice in the d├ęcor of the place.

Actual wine bottles embedded in the walls, panels painted by the bottoms of wine bottles, and other things revolving around wine!

Live, Love, Celebrate :D

Gastronomica have their Sufi Nights on Thursday, and we were lucky enough to be there on a sufi night. The band was amazing and set the mood for the night :) Such an uplifter :)

How cute is that! :D
